Umbria, October 5-12, 2019
Our bike trips with Mondo Bike Tours always include great food, and accommodations that range from very attractive to stunning. The scenery is always terrific. The towns we visit are both typical of the region and uniquely themselves, with unusual photo opportunities. Here are examples.
On the way to Montefalco, we had this view of (I think) Spello, which is not famous or spectacular, but still a knockout view:

I mentioned Spoleto, with its Very Old structures like the aqueduct. The whole city is way up a hill (currently served by a series of escalators) but even up high, the Romans wanted their amphitheater:

We spent one night at a beautiful resort across the valley from the town of Todi, which looked like this just around sunrise on an unfortunately cloudy day:

At the entry to this lovely lodging, I was grabbed by this plastic-encased work. I have no idea what the gray rafts (?) might represent. But if you can see the facial expression on the little person, I hope you will find the humorous self-referential nestedness of the work that caught my eye. (Comments welcome.)

We spent an hour or so walking around Todi (mostly up and down — did I say Umbria is hilly?) and I was lucky to catch the barber at work just inside his beautiful entrance:

Dan and I have always liked cars. Unfortunately, this one in Montefalco, which may have had a past life in the wine industry, was not for sale:

On earlier trips, I have posted photos of manhole covers. I thought I had exhausted the subject, but Montefalco proved me wrong:
